This fried fish is out of this world!

I was hesitant to order the fried fish because I am not a huge fan of fried foods, but it was highly recommended by the waiter. So glad I listened to him! The fish was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. It's definitely one of the best fried fish dishes I've ever had!

5 easy steps to the perfect fried mandarin fish

Ingredients:

  1. One whole fried mandarin fish, about 1/2 pound to 3/4 pound.
  2. Three tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  3. One teaspoon salt.
  4. Half a teaspoon sugar.
  5. A dash of white pepper powder.

Instructions:

Step 1: Preparation Before frying the fish, you must first prepare it correctly. The first step is to scale and gut the fish. After that, cut off the fins and tail, then slice the fish in half lengthwise with a sharp knife. Finally, remove the black membrane that runs along the center of the fish flesh (see picture below). If done correctly, your fish should look like this:

Step 2: Marinate After prepping the fish, it's time to marinate it in flavorful mixture of salt, sugar and pepper powder. Simply mix together 3 tablespoons of oil, 1 teaspoon salt, half a teaspoon sugar and a dash of white pepper powder in a bowl or dish. Then place your fish pieces into the mixture and coat them evenly on all sides. Let the fish sit in the marinade for at least 15 minutes (the longer, the better).

Step 3: The Fry Once your fish has been properly prepped and marinated, it's time to start frying! Add 3 tablespoons of oil to a heavy bottomed skillet or wok over medium-high heat (you can also use an outdoor grill). When the oil is hot enough, carefully add your fish pieces to the pan (you may have to do this in batches). Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (see picture below). Drain any excess oil on paper towels before serving hot with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy!

Baked salmon is a delicious and easy way to enjoy your favourite fish. It's also a healthy dish, as salmon is a nutritious source of protein, vitamins, and minerals.

To make baked salmon, start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and coat it with cooking spray. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Next, generously season the top of the salmon with salt, pepper, and any other desired herbs or spices. Then, bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.

The end result is a juicy and tender piece of salmon that's infused with the flavours of salt, pepper, and any other herbs or spices you choose to use. Serve with your favourite sides for a healthy and delicious meal.

Fried mandarin fish - a new family favourite!

This week I cooked up a new family favourite - fried mandarin fish. The recipe is incredibly simple, and the end result is a dish that's crispy on the outside and delicate and juicy on the inside.
